Call for Nominations for The Alberta Co-operative Awards

The Alberta Community and Co-operative Association and the provincial government’s Service Alberta department are calling for nominations for the Alberta Co-operative Awards. Five categories of awards are Presentations may be made in any or all categories.

The Co-operative Merit Award

This longstanding award continues from previous years and is presented to individuals who have contributed outstanding and continuous service to co-operatives and/or credit unions on a local, provincial, and national nature.  

Young Co-operative Leader Award

This award recognizes demonstrated achievement, at any level, of co-operative or credit union leadership by individuals 30 years of age and younger who exemplify co-operative values and principles.

Inspiring Young Co-operators Award

Individuals of any age or co-operatives or credit unions are recognized for demonstrated leadership, at any level, that:

  • Responds to the needs and values of younger members; and/or
  • Motivates younger individuals to meaningfully participate in the co-operative.

Co-operative Innovations Award

This award is presented to either individuals or organizations which have demonstrated innovation, at any level of a co-operative or credit union, that goes beyond the norm and enables one or more of the following:

  • A co-operative/credit union delivering services or products that meet members’ needs where existing approaches were lacking.
  • The development of an enhanced co-operative/credit union structure.
  • A co-operative/credit union applying one or more of the co-operative principles in an enhanced manner.

Co-operative Visionary Leadership Award

This award recognizes demonstrated leadership in a co-operative or credit union, at any level, that:

  • Inspired others toward something better;
  • Looked beyond what is to what could be;
  • Captured the values of the members;
  • Persevered; and
  • Transcended personal interests.

Nominations forms are available for each category of award and may be downloaded by following the links above, or contact ACCA at 780-963-3766 and request forms for one or more categories of nominations.

Follow the instructions on the form, noting eligibility requirements and information required.
