Why Serve on the ACCA Board?
As Alberta's provincial co-operative association, ACCA works to strengthen, promote, and advance the co-operative business model through advocacy, education, leadership development, and member engagement.
As a director, you'll help provide strategic leadership that supports:
Growing and strengthening Alberta's co-operative sector
Raising awareness of the co-operative business model
Advancing government relations and sector advocacy
Supporting education, networking, and leadership opportunities
Ensuring ACCA remains a strong, sustainable organization serving its members

Who Should Apply?
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals representing all types of co-operatives, including consumer, agricultural, financial, housing, worker, renewable energy, community service, and multi-stakeholder co-operatives.
We're looking for individuals who bring:
A passion for the co-operative model and its values
Strategic thinking and collaborative leadership
Governance experience—or a willingness to learn
Financial literacy and sound decision-making
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A commitment to supporting Alberta's co-operative community
Whether you're an experienced board director or an emerging leader looking to contribute at the provincial level, your perspective is valuable.
Board Commitment
Serving on the ACCA Board includes:
Four board meetings each year - approximately 3 hours
Participation in the Annual General Meeting and annual planning session
Service on at least one board committee
Attendance at key ACCA events, including the Alberta Co-operative Conference
Occasional virtual meetings as required
