From Purpose to Performance: A New Kind of Learning at This Year’s Co-op Conference

This year, we’re doing things a little differently.

Based on participant feedback and a growing appetite for practical, hands-on learning, the 2025 Alberta Co-operative Conference will include Breakout Learning Sessions, three in-depth, expert-led workshops designed to give you tools you can take back to your organization and use immediately.

These sessions are included in your conference registration at no extra cost.

“This year’s breakout learning sessions are part of our commitment to grow and raise the bar. We’re listening to participant feedback and pushing ourselves to deliver the kind of content that reflects ACCA’s renewed vision for this event. Our goal is clear: to build a provincial conference that delivers provincial-calibre learning and creates real value for everyone in the room.”
Corinne Remple, Executive Director, ACCA

One of this year’s featured learning sessions is led by Jessica Szewczuk, CPA, CA, CCMP, a nationally respected strategist, change leader, and visual facilitator who’s worked across Canada’s co-op, nonprofit, and public sectors. Her session, “From Strategy to Systems: Aligning Purpose and Performance for Member Outcomes,” is a hands-on workshop designed to help co-op leaders connect their values and strategy with the real-world systems - budgets, decisions, operations - that bring them to life.

Through visual tools, collaborative challenges, and real-time reflection, you’ll leave this session with:

  • A clearer map of how your co-op delivers (or could deliver) on its purpose

  • Practical frameworks to guide budget and operational planning

  • Tools to align priorities across your board, staff, and strategic goals

Whether you’re leading an established co-op, serving on a board, managing finances or building something new, this session is designed to spark alignment, clarity, and action.

And it’s just one of three new learning experiences on offer.

Join us this November and be part of a conference focused on building what’s next, together.
