ACCA Executive Director Resigns

The Board of Directors for Alberta Community & Co-operative Association (ACCA) has received and accepted a letter of resignation from Paul Cabaj as Executive Director. While the Board is recruiting for Paul’s replacement, Corinne Remple, Director of Shared Services and Communications, is stepping in as the Interim Executive Director.

During his time as Executive Director Paul was instrumental in forging a collaboration with BC Co-op Association which allowed ACCA to realize gains which benefited members and advanced efforts across the Rockies. He also spearheaded efforts to increase ACCA’s government relations efforts through hiring a dedicated Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager, leveraged his connections to surmount obstacles and reach across organizational barriers to champion the co-operative sector, and promoted investment vehicles like Co-operative Investment Solutions – an initiative that makes it easier for people to invest where they live and work.

“I have known Paul for many years and appreciate his passion for the co-operative sector” says Vicki Zinyk, ACCA Board Chair. “In the three years that Paul was ED the association grew in both numbers and influence and brought in many new partners. We thank Paul for his service and wish him well as he embarks on this new phase of his journey”.
