Co-op Youth Leadership Program Announcement

For the last 63 years, the ACCA Co-operative Youth Leadership Program has been educating thousands of youth from western Canada on co-operative values, the importance of community and giving back, agriculture in our society as well as helping them develop public speaking & team building skills & helping them recognize their strengths while making lifelong friendships.

It is with sadness that we announce that ACCA cannot sustain the youth Leadership Program delivery in its current format given changing demographics, higher costs, and reduced numbers.  We will not be holding any programs in 2023.

ACCA will continue to try to work with Goldeye Centre to explore potential possibilities of more viable programs that will support co-operative education across a spectrum of ages.  We will communicate the results of this exploration in the coming months, including our plans for engaging more deeply with the thousands of alumni that have been through the program.

ACCA is committed to educating & helping build a strong co-operative sector across Alberta and we will be working on a youth engagement reset.

We are extremely grateful for the support that the program has received over the years from our wonderful sponsors who have sponsored youth to attend our program as well as donated many supplies. The program also would not have been possible without our amazing volunteer staff who have contributed immensely to help positively influence our future leaders.

Whether you have been a part of the program for one year or 20+ years, you are a part of the ACCA family and have felt the wonderful impact that has come with being involved.
