UCP Front Runners Debate - August 9

ACCA is co-sponsoring - along with the Credit Unions of Alberta - a debate of the frontrunners for the Alberta United Conservative Party (UCP) leadership. The debate will take place on August 9 in Calgary and feature Brian Jean, Danielle Smith, and Travis Toews. There will be at least one co-operative-specific question asked at the debate, and additional questions that we think will be of interest to members fielded by these three individuals - one of which is likely to become the next Premier of Alberta and lead the UCP into the upcoming general election expected in the spring.

The debate is being presented by the Western Standard and will feature nineteen questions centred around six themes: 

• Alberta Strong

• Alberta Free

• Unity & Democracy

• Please God, give me one more oil boom

• Social Programs

• A Just Alberta

The event will be hosted by Rooftop YYC and begin at 4:30 pm.
