After connecting with ACCA Youth Leadership Program volunteer leaders and listening to their stories the pressure was on to somehow pack all the laughter, words and smiles into an article. One could write about the beautiful setting of the program, or the delicious food, but it’s much more than that. It’s the total package.

Vicki Zinyk was recently elected to the position of Board Chair with the Alberta Community & Co-operative Association (ACCA) for a three-year term. She succeeds Randy Taylor, who stepped down after twelve years.

ACCESS, a co-operative, shared-services platform brings the opportunity to strengthen Alberta co-ops and nonprofits. Once launched, ACCESS will provide co-ops and nonprofits with a pool of co-aligned qualified professional support without the need for a long-term or full-time commitment.

ACCA stands ready to work with governments and values-driven organizations to strengthen existing co-ops and build new co-ops that improve services and leverage the collective strengths and know-how of Albertans. To move this work forward, ACCA wishes to enter a services contract with a qualified government relations practitioner.

The Community and Co-operative Counsel was established to provide co-aligned legal support and consulting services for co-operative and nonprofit communities.
